Captain America II: Death Too Soon
Securing horror royalty Christopher Lee as the rogue terrorist General Miguel injects this sequel with a jolt of theatrical villainy that its predecessor desperately lacked. Armed with a biological weapon that rapidly accelerates human aging, Lee treats the ludicrous material with frosty, aristocratic gravity. Director Ivan Nagy trims away the meandering slice-of-life scenes from the pilot, immediately throwing Reb Brown into active duty. The motorcycle set pieces look punchier, the rocket-firing gadgets feel pulled straight from Saturday morning serials, and the ticking-clock plot provides genuine forward momentum. This sharper narrative drive makes the film undeniably superior to the dreary 1979 origin story, comfortably claiming the top spot in Brown's brief tenure behind the transparent shield.
