The Hills Have Eyes
Alexandre Aja's feral remake turns a wrong turn in the New Mexico desert into an unrelenting meat-grinder. When an extended suburban family finds their camper stranded in an abandoned atomic test zone, they become targets for mutant scavengers who attack with surgical, unrepentant ferocity. Aja shoots the desolation with blistering, bleached sunlight, refusing to grant the audience safe respites or polite cutaways. The film mirrors the visceral family-under-siege mechanics of The Strangers: Prey at Night, trading neon swimming pools for radioactive sand dunes while subjecting ordinary people to sudden, shattering rural violence.
